Warrior's Wish Foundation thanks you for your support. It is the policy of Warrior's Wish to apply any funds donated toward a specific wish to the specified wish first. In the event that funds are donated in excess of a wish maker's forcasted budget, the funds will be transferred to the general fund and applied toward other wishes and operating expenses. In some situations, a wish maker may be unable to receive their wish due to changing circumstances; funds designated for that wish will be transferred to the general fund. Once donations are received by Warrior's Wish they will be used to complete the mission and not refunded for any reason. Thank you for your continued support.
desparate need of a handicapped bathroom downstairs in the home I live in with my wife, step-son, daughter-in-law and 3 granddaughters. There is a bathroom upstairs but I cannot climb stairs. When we moved into this house 3 years ago we didn't realize I would go down hill so fast. We have a tiny bathroom downstairs that has a toilet and sink in it. I have been having to get sponge baths for almost 3 years. My wife has Stage IV Lung Cancer and it's very hard for her to get me into this bathroom alone because I have a hard time judging distance and there really isn't much room in the bathroom. She has to turn me sideways to get me in the door because my shoulders almost touch both sides of the door. This bathroom is 29"wide X 41 3/4"long; the door opening is 23" wide. I'm 6'2" and weigh 218lbs.  It would be wonderful to be able to take a shower and to be really clean.  I have to wear diapers because I can't talk any more and can't let my family know i need to use the rest room. They keep me as clean as they possibly can but it is really hard for them to get me really clean. It would just make me feel and look so much better. I think I would be alot happier if I could just take a shower every day. I really don't ask for much, just to be really clean like I use to be.
Thank you so much for any help you can give me. I have applied with the VA for a SAH grant to  put in a bathroom, but was turned down because I'm not missing a limb,  but I have to use a wheelchair most of the time because I fall from having small seizures, it makes my knees give out and my wife can"t hold me up. My wife cares for me pretty much alone most of the time, if she needs help getting me up or if I fall our family is there to help her.
Again thank you for any help that you give us, and if you can't then thank you for helping other veterans.

Thank you,
Shelton Erikson
